69th Commission on the Status of Women: Network Members and Supporter-Sponsored Events
Events | March 2025
The Peacemakers Network and its partners invite you to the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women. These events will address challenges in implementing the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action over the past 30 years while highlighting key successes led by faith communities.

CSW69/Beijing+30 Parallel Event: Faith, Empowerment, and Equality: A Conversation with Women and Young Women of Faith
As the international community gathers for the 69th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action, we have a key opportunity to advance gender-responsive action and the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. This includes commitments under the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (1979), UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948).
On Thursday, March 13 at 8:30 am – 10:00 am EST join us as we offer a space to reflect on the past, assess current challenges that affect the implementation of the Platform for Action, and include an intergenerational approach to examining the 12 critical areas of concern in the Platform.
This will be a hybrid event.
- The in-person session will be held at the NYC Salvation Army Auditorium. To attend in-person, please click here to register.

This event is co-hosted by Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) partners – the Peacemakers Network, Tearfund, Faith to Action Network, and Mensen met een Missie.

CSW69/Beijing+30 Official Event: From Faith to Action: Women Religious Leaders Transforming the Beijing Platform into Reality
Over the past several years, the international community has witnessed a growing backlash against fundamental human rights, including political and civil rights. This backlash can be notably seen against women’s rights and the broader gender equality agenda. Women of faith are key advocates for inclusive development as they are uniquely positioned to build trust across communities, catalyze public support, and emphasize a whole-of-society approach.
This event will be held on Monday, March 17 at 4:45 – 6:00 pm EST to showcase the pivotal role women of faith play in addressing the 12 critical areas of the Beijing Declaration. The event will provide a platform for sharing successful initiatives and transformative approaches from diverse contexts, such as Indonesia and Africa.
The event will be held in person at the UN Headquarters (405 E 45th St, New York, NY 10017) in Conference Room E.
This event is co-hosted by Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations and JISRA partners – the Peacemakers Network, Tearfund, Faith to Action Network, and Mensen met een Missie.
