Members and Supporters

Join a network of over 115 organizations around the world that seek to support new ways of strengthening the positive engagement of religious and traditional peacemakers in peace and peacebuilding processes. The Peacemakers Network supports collaborative work and engagement. Working collaboratively is more than just the intersection of common goals – it involves engaged, collective determination to reach shared objectives of collaboratively supporting the positive role of religious and traditional actors.

The strength of the Peacemakers Network is in cooperation. The Peacemakers Network is formed from an array of actors, including inter-and-intra-governmental agencies, regional bodies, academic institutions, international and national organizations, civil society, and most importantly, religious and traditional peacemakers.

How To Get Involved

The added value of becoming a member of the Peacemakers Network is threefold. First, your organization is at the top of our list for consortium projects, advocacy initiatives, research, and funding opportunities. As the Network Secretariat learns of funding or professional development opportunities, we seek regional and thematic expertise from the membership. Second, access to networking opportunities. Active participation in the thematic and regional working groups is an opportunity to connect with members, supporters, and partners in the peacebuilding space. Regions have additional initiatives, including the African membership meet-up that gathers quarterly and the Asia Working Group small grants. Lastly, the Peacemakers Network hosts an annual gathering in person, called the Advisory Group Meeting (AGM), where members gather to network, share their work, and attend capacity-sharing and training sessions. At the AGM, members vote on rotating Steering Group members, and every five years, members participate in the strategy development process and vote to validate the five-year strategy.

To stay up to date on emerging opportunities, follow the Peacemakers Network on social media and subscribe to our newsletter at the bottom of the page.

Become a Member

There are many opportunities to get involved in Network activities, either as a Member or Supporter. If you believe that your organization would benefit from being a Member of the Network and meets the criteria outlined in the Terms of Reference, please contact Sarah Rehman at sarah.rehman@kirkonulkomaanapu.fi to learn more about the membership process.

Become a Supporter

Organizations and individuals that have the capacity and the desire to advance the Network’s mission but are unable to commit to membership can still be Network Supporters. While Supporters do not have the right to vote, they are encouraged to contribute, based on their interests and capabilities, to specific activities and working groups.
