Vacancy Announcement – Senior Program Officer at USIP

The Senior Program Officer will spearhead the creation of a program that explores the value of inclusion in peace processes as well as strategies and approaches to foster inclusion in peace processes.  He/She will develop and advance a cutting-edge research agenda around inclusion in peace negotiation and mediation; create and promulgate policy recommendations, operational guidelines and field manuals for promoting inclusion; and, when appropriate, advise peace mediators and negotiators how to advance inclusion in peace processes.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of substantially contributing to policy engagement or practice in advising on inclusion of women, civil society and grassroots activists, youth, religious actors, internally displaced peoples, indigenous populations, etc. in various elements of a peace process including mediation, negotiation and dialogue.  This position requires familiarity with international frameworks and organizations promoting and/or analyzing inclusion in peace processes.
