As part of the training, participants mapped components of community vulnerability and resilience as it relates to violent extremism within their contexts and identified vulnerability factors including the lack of identity, lack of confidence, lack of psychosocial support, secularism, lack of access to economic or educational opportunities and diaspora communities feeling as though they are integrated within the broader host community, to name a few.

Subsequently, participants then brainstormed challenges and solutions on how community stakeholders can meaningfully support an inclusive ‘whole of society’ approach within their P/CVE work, including through the engagement of migrants, faith actors and communities, LGBTQIA community members, youth and women. 

As a PAVE project partner, the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers has developed a total of five training modules to support capacity building and peer-to-peer learning for relevant stakeholders seeking to promote a local multi-stakeholder approach within various thematic areas addressing P/CVE, as a mechanism to promote community-level resilience. The training resources will be publicly available on the PAVE website following the conclusion of the PAVE project in mid-April.
