Special Advisor – Right to Peace

Paula Tarvainen is Senior Advisor, Right to Peace at Finn Church Aid.  She is responsible for the development of FCA’s Right to Peace (R2P) theme and programmatic framework and provides advice and support to FCA’s country offices in 12 fragile and conflict-affected countries.  She also works as part of the Network Secretariat team, hosted by FCA, and provides support to the Network strategy development and implementation.

Previously she worked as a Programme Specialist at UN Women in Geneva, providing comprehensive programmatic and technical support to UN Women’s offices in crisis countries under a global humanitarian action and resilience-building program. In addition, she provided thematic and technical support to UN Women’s project supporting Syrian women’s participation and influence in the political process. 

Before this, she worked at Finn Church Aid / Network Secretariat, Crisis Management Initiative, and the Finnish Institute in the Middle East.
