Peacemakers Network Honored at the Congress at the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions in Kazakhstan

The Peacemakers Network was awarded an Honorary Medal of the Congress at the VIII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, hosted by the Government of Kazakhstan. The award was presented to Executive Director Dr. Mohamed Elsanousi by the President of Kazakhstan in recognition of the Peacemakers Network’s global work fostering interreligious dialogue and collaboration.
Held in Astana, the Congress gathered delegates from over 60 countries, representing diverse faiths, cultures, and civilizations.
Members of the Congress adopted the Astana Peace Declaration 2025, read at the closing session by George Jacob Kuttianickal, Prefect of the Dicastery for Interreligious Dialogue of the Holy See. The document reflects universal human values, respect for cultural and religious diversity, and a shared aspiration for peace and mutual understanding.
In his final address, the Speaker of the Kzakh Senate reiterated that the dialogue throughout the conference focusing on strengthening interreligious and intercultural cooperation will, “contribute significantly to building a more tolerant, peaceful and stable international environment and to promoting a global culture of dialogue and mutual understanding.”
